IBM Processor License Change Effective July 25, 2006, IBM has announced changes to the per processor licensing program. In response to the multicore chips which are currently available and which are intended to increase in capacity greatly over the next several years, IBM has modified all processor licenses to a value unit model. Now, processors have a value unit of 30, 50 or 100 assigned to them, depending on the type of processor configuration your hardware uses. To find out the processor value of your current system, you can enter your information in the Value Unit Calculator. Upon renewal, your licenses will be converted to this new model. Any questions, contact Sandi Conrad or check out IBM's FAQ.
